Friday night was one of those perfect nights for racing the heat was gone and the fans were out in force! As the season winds down there are only 3 races left on the 2024 schedule
We had our weekly classes on tap and some familiar faces found themselves in the Pete's Convenience Store Victory Lane.
*The Home Savings Bank Factory Stocks kicked off the show with Kerry Gorby and Dallas Joyce grabbing heat race wins. The feature would see Braxton Lamons and Craig Gibson lead the field to the Rowe Motor Company green flag. The battle would heat up fast at the front of the field as Gorby, Joyce, Derrick Wilson and Dylan Allen all shuffled for positions. As the race went on Joyce would work his way to the front and set sail to another win followed by Kenton Allen, Kerry Gorby, Derrek Wilson and Braxton Lamons.
*Up next would be the Ray's Metal Depot USRA Bmods with the heat races won by Trett Bailey and Tyler Kidwell. The feature would see Bailey and Kidwell bring the field the Rowe Motor Company green flag. Bailey would lead lap 1, but the field what hot his trail. Andy Bryant in his J2 Chassis was marching through the field to the top spot. The action was hot behind Bryant as Jake Richards who was making a rare visit to the Humboldt speedway and Reece Solander keeping pace with Bryant. As the race went on Bryant was able to put distance on the field and grab the checker's for two weeks in a row. Jake Richards, Reece Solander, Trett Bailey and Tyler Kidwell rounding out the top 5.
*The Wilson Automotive Tuners/Mini Stock class. The heats were won by two of the most consistent cars in the class with Trent Wilson and Clint Haigler grabbing the heats. The feature lineup would see Ken Happy and Trent Wilson bring the to the Rowe Motor Company green flag. Trent Wilson jumped out to the lead and picked up where he left off. Clint Haigler had to work through traffic and by the time he made it up to second the laps were winding down he just ran out of time. Trent Wilson grabbed the win followed by Haigler, Larry Trester, Travis Bockover and Ken Hapy the top 5.
*The Armi Contractors USRA Modifieds were up next on the lineup and it was a tough field. The heat race would see Houston Johnson grab the win and was looking for the trifecta as he had won the last two weeks. Tad Davis and Chase Sigg would bring the field to the green and the battles would start. Davis grabbed the early lead, but behind him Paden Phillips was on a mission. Phillips closed in a grabbed the lead away and the 127car looked smooth as he put the laps down. Paden Phillips would go one the grab the checkers followed by Davis, Kenton Allen, Houston Johnson and Dakota Dale.
*The Extrusions Inc. Midwest Modified were up next as Quentin Sams, Stratton McGhee and Jess Folk Jr all grabbing heat race wins. The feature would see Dereck Caudle and Quentin Sams bringing the field to the green. Jess Folk would drive son Brady's car to the top spot as he set his sights on a second trip the Pete's Victory Lane. Point leader Trevor Holman worked his way to the second position followed by the mover of the night Jimmy Davis who had moved up 18 spots. Folk would go on to grab the win Followed by Holman, Davis, Dylan Daniels and another hard charger Baron Folk who moved up 9 spots. This would be Jess Folk Jr's second win with one coming in Brady and Baron's cars.
*All in all another great night of racing tonight at the Humboldt Speedway, next week we have the Heartland Modified Tour returning to the Humboldt Speedway where it all began. Also, Friday will be kids night at the races where the kids will have a chance to go out and meet their favorite drivers get some autographs and just an overall fun night as our season winds down.
