By Ryan Whitworth, Humboldt Speedway (Humboldt, KS) — It’s time to put the rumors to rest and let you know that the final decision for Humboldt Speedway’s sanctioning will be NASCAR for the 2017 season. Four classes will headline the McCarthy Auto Group Weekly Racing series. The McCarthy Auto Group Modifieds will be the headline division nearly each and every week to battle it out for a huge point fund of nearly $6,000, along with many other NASCAR contingencies.
Division 2 class will be the Rays Metal Depot B-mods
Division 3 Pitt Steel Stock Cars
Division 4 Whitworth Construction Pure Stocks O’Reily Auto Parts Sport Compacts will not be sanctioned due to age restrictions.

None of this would be possible had we not been approached by multiple advertisers and racetracks wanting to work together for the first time in Humboldt Speedway’s 50-year history. The main reason for choosing NASCAR besides their great reputation in our industry is the fact that drivers will be able to run for National NASCAR points at Oklahoma’s Salina Highbanks Speedway on Saturdays and the newly reopened Mid-America Speedway in South Coffeyville Oklahoma on Sundays all with divisions aligned to be able to compete for National recognition and to step food on stage with other NASCAR greats.
We have had a long great run with USRA, and the USMTS group driven by the leader of modified racing Todd and Janet Staley. Not only have they been business partners for nearly 15 years they have become a second family to us and there is no way we would be where we are if they had not been in our life. Many have asked and yes we plan to continue our relationship with them
into the 2017 season which will start with the Battle@theBullring March10-12, and the King of America March 23-25 which is their event that builds in popularity each year.
