JACKSON MCGOWEN TAKES WIN #1 AT HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY!

Jackson McGowen, an up and coming Loves Travel Stop Midwest Modified driver from Humboldt, Ks. recorded his first ever feature win in the Love’s Travel Stop Midwest Modifeds Friday night at Humboldt Speedway. Adding to the list of wins in the McGowen family from his Mom, Dad, Multiple Uncles and Great Uncles, Grandma, and both Grandpas
Young McGowen comes from a long line of dirt track racing stars, and the heritage showed through with his first ever feature victory. McGowen took the lead mid race, and proceeded to hold off some very talented competition. Veteran Scott Collins of Humboldt finished runner up, with Chanute’s Tyler Davis a strong third. Jon Westhoff of Chanute was fourth, while Joey Decoster, also from Chanute, finished fifth out of a fifteen car field.
No stranger to Victory Lane, Chanute driver Tyler Kidwell recorded his first Hummer win of the year in Ray’s Metal Depot B-Mod feature action topping the ultra competitive 16 car field. Jake Richards of Lansing, Ks. powered his 6th starting positioned Dodge powered machine into the runner up spot. Pittsburg Ks pilot Brian McGowen bested suspension woes late in the race to take third place. Fourth spot went to Jerry Morgan of Ft. Scott, with Humboldt’s Dan Daniels locking down the top five.
Derrek Wilson of Chanute takes the win after a post race disqualification in the Home Savings Bank Factory Stocks. Bryson Kitterman in the 77k of Coffeyville, Ks. was second, third went to Humboldt native Scott Collins. Brian Knisley of Coffeyville made the trip to come home 4th and Josh Piatt of Neodesha fifth in a highly contested 13 car field.
Humboldt’s Brandon Vink dominated the USRA Tuners feature, leading wire to wire for the win. Robert Moore of Humboldt was runner up, while Clint Haigler, also from Humboldt, ran third. Lady driver Maddyson Tyler of Parsons secured fourth, while another Parsons driver, Jeremy Tyler took fifth with ten cars starting the A-Main
Humboldt Speedway celebrated the annual Kids Night with intermission bicycle races. Knox Huffered of Iola rang up his first racing victory in the 6 yr and under class. Rorick Trester of Moran won the 7 yoa to 12 yoa. Portion of the event.
Next week, The Hummer will host a USRA $1000.00 to win B-Mod event, as well as a full slate of racing in all classes.
