LOCAL HEROS SHINE AT HUMBOLDT SPEEDWAY IN SUPPORT OF USMTS MODIFIEDS!

When the USMTS Modified Tour comes to Humboldt Speedway bringing fifty plus racers from all over the United States for their summer stop, it is obviously a really big show. This season, Jake O’Neil from Tucson, Az. Was the big winner.
However, the Hummer also featured a full field of local action heroes in support of the main event. This is their story.
In the Love’s Travel Stops Midwest Modified feature, Jackson McGowen of Humboldt took his third win in as many weeks. Runner up, from Chanute, Ks. was Dallas Joyce, while another Chanute driver, Jon Westhoff claimed third. Braden Bowman of Chanute and Ethan Laymons of Savonburg rounded out the top five.
The dominant force in the Home Savings Bank Factory Stock division, Chanute’s Derrek Wilson racked up yet another 2021 feature win, holding off runner up Brandon Rice of Louisburg, Ks. while Humboldt’s Trey Stipp secured the third spot, with Brian Knisley of Coffeyville was fourth and Scott Collins of Humboldt fifth.
It was a good night for Humboldt’s racing community overall, as Brandon Vink scored the USRA Tuner Feature this week. Clint Haigler of Humboldt was second, Colony Ks. pilot Johnathan Culler claimed third. Fourth went to Maddy Tyler of Parsons, Chanute’s Travis Bockover finished fifth.
The Hummer’s premier weekly class, Ray’s Metal Depot B-Mods, was captured this week by Springfield, Mo. racer Ryan Gillmore. Brian Bolin of Ft. Scott took runner up, with Jon Sheets of Nevada, Mo. finished third, with Gabriel Hodges of Lebo, Ks fourth and Jake Richards of Lansing, Ks fifth.
